Motivation to Write

Posted on Updated on

As an amateur blogger, or rather an inconsistent blogger, I am often unsure of how often to post.  Daily writing challenges might work for me while I am not in school, but are unrealistic once my schedule changes.   Weekly challenges are another option because I can schedule it into my calendar.  But, choosing the day to post may send me into an ADHD stress spiral.welcome to my blog now what

So, I have been posting as spirit, stories or books have moved me to do so.  Not the most consistent blogging style, but I have been able to record my thoughts and feelings when they are”freshest,” and therefore, the most transparent.

I been responding to more posts on other bloggers’ sites.   These conversations are helping me find my blog voice and led to some of my own posts.   I feel less “shy” about posting, and more confident about my feelings.   Respectful discourse can be stimulating to read and participate in.

Share with me how you remain consistent in your blogging.  What prompts you to write?

Anything that pops into my head prompts me to write usually. If people like it, great! If not, I’m glad I’ve had the opportunity to write something down…

You shouldn’t be nervous about blogging – you write very well!

      I appreciate your comment!

I have never been apprehensive about my ability to write, just the consistency required for blogging.

I like that you write whenever something pops into your head, as that seems to be my preferred writing style.

I struggle with this too! That and sometimes it’s discouraging when I reach out to many blogs but receive no reaching out back…it’s like “do by blogs just suck?!” and then I get stuck!

I KNOW, right? I WANT people to respond and share ideas. Isn’t that the point of blogging to start conversations? I understand not getting a response, if it’s a popular blog. But, I wonder if some folks just allow anyone to post anything, including spam, for the sake of increasing their number of hits.

      We’ll keep on talking, girl!

Write anything you want. It’s your blog. It’s not rocket science (and thank God it’s not or I wouldn’t be here). Seems like when I blog, I’m talking myself through something and folks seem to respond with something I need to hear (read, that is).

No doubt! Sometimes it feels like I’m standing a microphone saying, “is this on? Can anyone hear me? Check. Check. One. Two. Sibilance. Sibilance.” LOL

I write because the words, thoughts and/or feelings need to be expressed. It’s catharsis and helps me quiet my mind.

      Thanks for your comment.
